The Woodpecker Syndrome

I am often asked what’s the secret to success? to being an entrepreneur? to getting a goal? to pursuing a dream? Well, I’ve come to answer all of these questions with the same answer. Be a woodpecker! Yes, a bird! Here’s how I see it. Woodpeckers are one of the smallest birds and yet they take on Giant Trees without really having any doubt that they have the capacity, strength, determination to make those trees fall. Here’s what happens. The tiny bird gets up and goes to its tree–its goal, dream, business–daily. And it pecks away. Yes, at the end of the day, I can assure you, its beak hurts. Some days it wonders if it took on too big of a tree–goal. The other birds and animals look at the woodpecker and kind of think it’s crazy. And yet, on certain days–and the woodpecker never knows which ones–the big tree falls. Just because of one more small peck–action. Does the woodpecker celebrate? I am sure it does. Two Amazing Documentaries!

Well, you've probably never heard of these 2 movies! Recently, I've become fascinated in searching for the real, honest truth about a few topics, namely anything and everything that involves health and well being. There are so many documentaries that never get wide distribution sadly, even though there's a real need for the public to be aware of them. Genetic Roulette is the first movie I highly recommend. It explains in a practical, informative and very engaging way, the issues around Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's), what foods they are found in, the health consequences of having these in our food supply, the institutions behind this, the health issues and diseases that are now becoming more and more prevalent and also how to avoid eating them. Its a fascinating journey into a subject that is crucial for us all to make our own informed decisions about. For all parents, its a must-see so you understand the impact of certain foods on your kids that you'd never imagine were GMO's. For anyone with a health challenge, weight, allergies, diabetes, inflammation of any kind, pain, please watch this movie and share it. Vaccine Nation is the other movie to watch. If you've ever wondered how ...

Qualities of a Change Agent

It seems like more and more people want to give back, volunteer, feel as if their work matters and that they are making a difference. For some, they want to create change in their community, in their school, in the workplace and for others, they want to change something on an even bigger level. This notion of being a “change agent” is open to anyone, at any age, from anywhere. There are no entry requirements. What I have found, however, is that these people do share a certain set of qualities and character traits that they embody. Here are 10 qualities of a change agent. 1) They don’t ask for permission and they don’t seek approval Being a change agent often means creating something from scratch or doing something that hasn’t been done before. People may question you, say it’s not your nature, be threatened or let you know why it won’t work. So what you can do is to create a healthy boundary and remember you’re not doing this to get approval, but to inspire and manifest change. 2) They are open minded. Anything is possible for a change agent. You don’t want to cling to being right, to your previous knowledge or ...
